Using this site

This site is run by New Line Travel, a tour operator based in Egypt selling day trips, multi-day packages and Nile cruises on the Red Sea coast and in Upper Egypt. Using the site means agreeing to what follows. Browse the trips, send us booking requests, and give us accurate details when you do. Do not try to break into the site, overload it or scrape it.

A booking request is not yet a booking

When you send a request through this site, nothing is reserved. The request tells us which trip you want and for which date. We then check with the operator running it and come back to you, by email or on WhatsApp, with the availability and the price. You have a booking once we confirm it to you in writing. Until that confirmation arrives, no seat, cabin or room is being held for you.

Prices

Prices on this site are shown in euros and are a guide to what a trip costs. Some trips are priced on request, because the cost depends on the group, the season or the route, and those appear without a figure until we quote you. The price that counts is the one in your confirmation. Rates can move between the moment you send a request and the moment we confirm, particularly on cruises and hotel stays, and we will tell you before you commit to anything if that has happened.

Payment

We do not take payment on this site and we never ask for card details on it. If a page claiming to be us asks you to type in a card number, it is not us. How you pay, how much is due up front and in which currency are all agreed with you when we confirm the booking.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

Cancellation deadlines and refund terms depend on the trip and on the operator behind it. A morning snorkelling trip and a multi-day Nile cruise do not work the same way, and a cruise line will usually hold you to its own terms. The terms that apply to your trip are set out in your booking confirmation, before any money changes hands, and those are the ones that govern the booking. If anything in them is unclear, ask us before you pay.

What we need from you

Travel documents are your responsibility. That means a valid passport, whatever visa Egypt requires of your nationality, and any permit needed for the areas your itinerary passes through. We cannot check these on your behalf, and a trip missed because a document was wrong or missing is not refundable by us.

Take out travel insurance that covers medical treatment, evacuation and the activities you intend to do. Diving and other water sports sit outside many standard policies unless you add them.

Tell us in advance about anything that affects whether an activity is safe for you or changes what a supplier has to prepare, such as a medical condition, pregnancy, reduced mobility or a serious allergy. Some boats and sites cannot accommodate every need, and it is far better to find that out before the morning of the trip.

Activities and risk

Swimming, snorkelling, diving, boat trips, desert and quad safaris, camel and horse riding and similar activities carry real risk, injury included. You take part by choice and at your own risk, so far as Egyptian law allows anyone to say so. Follow the instructions of the guide or the skipper, use the equipment you are given, and stay inside what you are trained and fit to do.

A guide can stop you joining an activity if they judge it unsafe on the day, including where alcohol or a medical condition is a factor, and that call is theirs to make. Children stay the responsibility of the adults travelling with them throughout.

When the plan has to change

Weather, sea state, visibility, a mechanical problem on a boat and decisions by the Egyptian authorities such as port closures or restricted sites can all force a change to an itinerary. When that happens we will offer you another date, a comparable alternative, or whatever remedy your booking confirmation sets out. We would sooner move a trip than run it in conditions we would not take our own families out in.

What is on the site

We keep trip descriptions, durations, inclusions and photographs as accurate as we can, but details change, especially seasonal ones such as departure times and which sites a boat can reach. Photographs show the kind of trip on offer and the places it visits rather than a guarantee of what you will see on the day. Marine life does not take instructions. Where this site and your booking confirmation disagree, the confirmation is the one to trust.

Our responsibility

We arrange your trip and we take responsibility for arranging it with reasonable care and skill. Where a third party such as a hotel, boat operator, cruise company or transport provider carries out part of your trip, they are responsible for how they carry it out. So far as Egyptian law allows, we are not liable for loss, delay, injury or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control, by other travellers, or by your own acts, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as a missed onward connection or lost earnings. Nothing on this page limits liability that Egyptian law does not permit us to limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence.

Governing law

These terms, and any booking made under them, are governed by Egyptian law, and the Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page. The version published when you send a booking request is the version that applies to that request.

If something goes wrong

Tell us while you are still on the trip if you possibly can. Most problems, whether a room, a pickup time or a piece of equipment, can be sorted out on the spot and cannot be sorted out afterwards. If it is still unresolved when you get home, write to mohamed@newline.travel with your booking details and what happened, and we will look into it.
